The idea to write a book focusing on beekeeping practice started in 1987, when I took over the editing of the columns "Beekeeping Operations" and "The Beekeeper's Column" in the magazine Beekeeping Review. By analyzing each month the actions that the beekeeper should apply to have strong hives and good yields, and at the same time answering the questions and queries of beekeepers, I shaped the content of this book, which, in my opinion, serves as a useful guide for the practical exercise of beekeeping.

The book was written early but in the effort to improve and enrich it with new information, it was delayed for several years until I realized that a book can never keep up with the evolution and incorporate all the new information that is constantly recorded in international and Greek literature.

This book aims to complement the already existing university textbooks and at the same time to help the Greek beekeeper in understanding and solving the various problems he faces in his daily occupation.

It is intended for individuals seeking to improve their basic and theoretical knowledge in beekeeping and to practice it practically. The book includes nine chapters.
