It is a compact and hardy plant for the front zone of the aquarium. Its closest relative is Hygrophila, but it differs with its dense appearance and low bushy stature with small green leaves.
When planting it in the aquarium, the larger stems should be trimmed, and new horizontal shoots will soon form. These "creeping" stems will form the base of the plant and will gradually spread along the substrate.
