The most important thing to remember about Anubias is the rhizome (the thick horizontal stem from which the roots and leaves grow).

• Do not bury it in the substrate: If you bury the rhizome in sand or gravel, the plant will rot and die.
  
• Attachment to decorations: The best way is to tie it with fishing line or cotton thread onto wood (driftwood) or stones. Over time, the roots will "embrace" the surface by themselves.
  
• Position in the aquarium: Due to its size, it is usually placed in the midground or the background of the aquarium.

• Durability: It withstands low light conditions and low CO2 supply.
  
• Anti-eating: Its leaves are so tough that most herbivorous fish (such as cichlids or goldfish) cannot eat them.
