I bought the Mercusys MR80X to replace my provider's Wi-Fi and honestly, it's awesome. This particular router has nothing to envy from much more expensive models.

    Strong points:
    • VPN: I set it up with WireGuard (Surfshark) and the 100 Mbps line maxes out with no loss. Its processor handles encryption easily without any hiccups.
    • Wi-Fi 6 with Smart Connect: Amazing range and stability throughout the house (100 sqm)
    • QoS that works: You set device priorities and forget about lag.
    • Guest Network: Very easy to create a separate network for guests so they don't have access to your devices and your VPN.

    Conclusion:
If you want a router that can handle VPN at the router level, has Wi-Fi 6, and doesn't require you to sell a kidney to buy it, it's a no-brainer. Its menu is simple, it sets up in 10 minutes, and so far it's rock solid

I got it for a VPN client, but it didn't do that properly. It had numerous disconnections from CyberGhost. In the end, I set it aside and got a TP-Link mesh that had a VPN client and I did my job without problems anymore.

Excellent for its price and very stable.
Especially useful that it meshes effortlessly with a TP-Link router and the Tether app recognizes it normally.
