The markers have a water-based foundation and are certified non-toxic. They use water-soluble dyes, allowing for fast ink drying. They are recommended for use on porous surfaces, such as paper, for better ink absorption.

The fact that they are water-soluble means that they can generally be removed from fabrics up to a point, although traces of dye may remain on light surfaces or specific materials.
