Guide for 16 walks in the Cinque Terre area of Italy. Following ancient paths connecting the settlements listed by UNESCO, the routes include moderate to steep ascents and require a satisfactory level of physical fitness.
The walks range from 2 to 14 km and can be enjoyed in 2-5 hours. There are routes starting from the five main villages - Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore - and all are accessible by public transport.
Scale maps 1:50,000 or 1:25,000 are included for each walk. GPX files are available for download. Information on recreation and public transport is provided. The walks can be combined to create a 3-4 day crossing throughout Cinque Terre, with notes on local history, flora and fauna, as well as gastronomy.
