A hiking guide on the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA) from the Nufenen Pass at the Swiss border to Ventimiglia on the Mediterranean coast. It covers 809km and is a frequently overlooked multi-day route in the western Italian Alps, requiring about 2 months to complete and suitable for experienced hikers.

The route is described from north to south in 55 stages, each stage ranging from 7 to 26km in length. The trail is divided into 3 sections with transport options for those who wish to break the hike into shorter segments.

GPX files are available for download, 1:100,000 scale maps for each stage, useful route summary tables for planning the journey, as well as information on recreation and accommodation for each stage of the hike.
