Charge controller suitable for installations up to 50A at 24V. It is a PWM type that connects the photovoltaic panel to the battery (12/24/48V), making it a simple switch. When the switch is closed, the panel's voltage matches that of the battery. The voltage of the string that the PWM controller can handle depends on the battery voltage and is usually low, with one or two panels of 100/200Wp in series and correspondingly low charging current compared to the capabilities of an MPPT charge controller. PWM charge controllers are ideal for smaller systems where efficiency is not as critical and for solar collectors with a maximum power voltage (Vmp) up to 18V for charging a 12V battery.
