Description

Fir Honey from Mainalo is produced from the black firs of Mount Mainalo in Arcadia as well as from Mount Parnonas in Arcadia and is a renowned product for its taste and low sugar concentration. It is light-colored and resembles something between caramel (pearl) and vanilla.

This honey is not collected from flowers but from a honeydew produced by some microorganisms on the trunk of the black fir. Another unique characteristic is that due to its low glucose content, it crystallizes very slowly or not at all.

    All the honeys from the company are amazing. I bought the Kissoouri because I like both thyme and fir honey. However, the fir honey is something else. Pure honeys, with flavor and aroma. The next one will be Black Fir, a bit expensive but gourmet. The others are at a very good price.
