DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY!!!
The jacket was purchased on 29/11/2024 from a well-known store in Athens. A week later (Friday 6/12/2024), I wore it for its first 30-minute walk for errands in Athens. On the way back, I was caught in a light rain for 5 minutes before I got home. I realized when I got inside that in many spots the jacket had changed color, while in others it looked like the dye had run. I thought it must just be my imagination, since it got wet from the light rain it needed to dry, so I hung it on a hanger and placed it on a stool in my living room where it stayed all night. The next day (Saturday 7/12/2024), I saw that not only had it FADED, but in fact in some areas the color had "RUN" while in others it had formed BLISTERS. At that moment, I folded it and took it to the store where it was purchased to ask if this was normal and what to do. To the merchant's surprise, he told me that it was obviously not normal and that they would send it back to Rev'IT for replacement since it had been purchased a week ago and had only been worn once. More than a month later, on 16/01/2025 (Thursday), I received a call from the store informing me that Rev'IT had responded and that they do not cover it under warranty as they said it was the BUYER'S FAULT and that the jacket is not waterproof and I should have worn waterproof gear and not let it get wet. We're talking about a "LEATHER MOTORCYCLE JACKET" costing 500 euros that faded on the first use. Rev'IT's response included telling the buyer to use Rev'IT products (Cleaner and Conditioner for leathers) in case it might come back. Today, Thursday 23/01/2025, I received another call from the store to inform me that Rev'IT sent the jacket back and that they received it at the store and to come pick it up, which I did. The store gave me these 2 products for free and obviously apologized for this situation, also informing me that this is the first time this has happened with the company and that they always make exchanges on their products. Overall, the service from the store was excellent, however, the problem still persists. I used these products as per their instructions and I am waiting to see what will happen as the conditioner needs to stay on the jacket for a few hours and be applied a second time in 24 hours; however, I don't think the black color that faded will come back. Not only that, but the cloths I used to apply the cleaning products on the jacket turned BLACK. Unfortunately, such a large company did not admit the defectiveness of the product. I will follow up with relevant updates and will pursue the matter directly with Rev'IT, but really, don't throw away any more money on this company.
