I had never used a trackball mouse before, and buying it was a gamble for me. To start, know that you will go through a lot until you learn it and adjust your behavior to it. It stays fixed in one place, the desktop is covered only by rolling the trackball, the simulations with the familiar movements of the traditional mouse are hard to learn, the thumb must be stable but also in constant motion, mouse gestures in the browser are painful, and generally, everything takes time, effort, and training. If you don’t have patience and don’t want to learn some things from scratch, DO NOT BUY IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES; it will truly make you sweat and curse yourself! However, if you persist... you will gain in accuracy, in scrolling quality (goodbye mousepads), in hand movements (it doesn’t move at all and you don’t need any space), and in the end (very slowly at the end) you will enjoy it. Now, I find it hard to use traditional mice; they seem outdated and clumsy to me. However, there are also negatives: sometimes the thumb gets tired from the constant rolling of the trackball. The side buttons are almost rendered useless since the thumb doesn’t leave the trackball, and you will have to use your index finger (!) lifting it from the front button. Fortunately, these buttons are designed to be pressed vertically. Ultimately, it’s a matter of learning and willingness. If you don’t have experience and patience, stay as far away as you can. And to conclude: the mouse is bulky and seems very well made. I will return in the future - continuously gaining experience from using it - for additions or new observations
Δεν είχα ποτέ χρησιμοποιήσει ποντίκι με trackball και η αγορά του ήταν ένα στοίχημα για μένα. Για αρχή να ξέρετε πως θα τραβήξετε τα πάνδεινα μέχρι να το μάθετε και να προσαρμόσετε τη συμπεριφορά σας σ' αυτό. Μένει σταθερό σε ένα μέρος, το desktop καλύπτεται μόνο κυλώντας το trackball, οι προσομοιώσεις με τις γνωστές κινήσεις του παραδοσιακού ποντικιού μαθαίνονται δύσκολα, ο αντίχειρας πρέπει να είναι σταθερός αλλά και να βρίσκεται σε συνεχή κίνηση, οι χειρονομίες ποντικιού στον browser είναι επίπονες και γενικά τα πάντα θέλουν χρόνο, προσπάθεια και εκπαίδευση. Αν δεν έχετε υπομονή και δεν θέλετε να μάθετε κάποια πράγματα απ' την αρχή ΜΗΝ ΤΟ ΑΓΟΡΑΣΕΤΕ ΕΠ' ΟΥΔΕΝΙ, πραγματικά θα σας κάνει να ιδρώσετε και να βρίσετε τον εαυτό σας! Αν όμως επιμείνετε ... θα κερδίσετε σε ακρίβεια, σε ποιότητα κύλισης (τέρμα τα mousepads), σε κινήσεις χεριού (δεν κινείται καθόλου και δεν χρειάζεστε καθόλου χώρο) και στο τέλος (πολύ αργά στο τέλος) θα το ευχαριστηθείτε. Τώρα πια δύσκολα χρησιμοποιώ παραδοσιακά ποντίκια, μου φαίνονται αρχαιοπρεπή και ατσούμπαλα. Υπάρχουν όμως και τα αρνητικά: ο αντίχειρας κάποιες φορές κουράζεται απ' την συνεχή κύλιση του trackball. Τα πλαϊνά πλήκτρα σχεδόν αχρηστεύονται αφού ο αντίχειρας δε φεύγει απ' το trackball και θα αναγκασθείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε και τον δείκτη (!) σηκώνοντάς τον απ' το μπροστινό πλήκτρο. Ευτυχώς που αυτά τα πλήκτρα είναι σχεδιασμένα για να πατιώνται και κάθετα. Τελικά είναι θέμα εκμάθησης και διάθεσης. Αν δεν έχετε εμπειρία και υπομονή μείνετε όσο πιο μακρυά μπορείτε. Και για να τελειώσω: το ποντίκι είναι ογκώδες και φαίνεται πολύ καλής κατασκευής. Θα επανέλθω στο μέλλον - κερδιζοντας συνεχώς εμπειρία απ' τη χρήση του - για συμπληρώσεις ή και νέες παρατηρήσεις
