The philosophy of the CUES series is based on thicker gear teeth and different chain operating angles, allowing for smooth transitions from one gear to another without noise or the risk of a chain break. This delivers up to 3 times longer lifespan with proper performance in every condition.

The SHIMANO CUES series is compatible with nearly all mid-range and above bikes, including most aluminum bikes from older years.

For the transmission to function properly, the entire old and worn-out series must be replaced, as chain and gear operation standards cannot be combined with technologies from different series that are not Link Glide.
