This review is about a variation of the product

As a devoted nesbomaniac, I eagerly purchased Macbeth but unfortunately I wasn't as thrilled as I was with his previous books. It is a completely different book that didn't remind me of Nesbo's writing at all. Maybe I was still stuck on the unique character of Hole and his specific sense of humor...

Interesting novel that expands a little from the middle onwards.

Description & Specifications

HE IS THE BEST COP IN THE POLICE FORCE. In a grim deindustrialized city torn apart by corruption and crime, an attempt to capture drug dealers ends up in a bloodbath. The responsibility to clear the case falls on Inspector Macbeth and his team.

BUT HE IS ALSO A FORMER ADDICT WITH A PAST. Everything will be generously given to him for his success. Money. Power. Respect. HOWEVER, HE WILL NOT RECEIVE WHAT RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO HIM. Macbeth, however, dissatisfied and lost in delusions and paranoia, will push things to the extreme. ONLY IF HE KILLS.

The passion for power and a disturbed mind are the main ingredients of a gripping thriller based on the eponymous Shakespearean play and bearing the signature of the top contemporary author of crime fiction, Jo Nesbo. The king of crime fiction authors. Sunday Express. An unstoppable writing force. The Times.

Read an excerpt

"I looked around the half-light and the floor was covered with Norman Ryders lying face down," said Macbeth. "Blood, broken glass, and empty cartridges." "Oh my God!" exclaimed Angus, and his drunken voice stood out from the lively chatter of the patrons at Bricklayers Arms, the gathering place of the Strike Team at the central train station. With the shine of alcohol in his blue eyes, he looked at Macbeth almost with reverence. "You wiped them off the face of the earth! Oh my God! Cheers to you, Macbeth!" "Come on, come on, watch your words, you wanted to become a priest too," Macbeth scolded him, but when the eighteen men of the Strike Team in the group raised their beer glasses, he smiled and, shaking his head from side to side, also raised his glass. He took a large sip, looking at Olafsson, who was holding one of the large Bricklayers Arms glasses filled with beer in his left hand.
