The text serves as a tool for assessing acquired surgical knowledge. Multiple-choice questions have been established for several years as one of the fastest examination methods for the entire syllabus for both medical students and surgical residents.

The contribution of this particular system consists of increasing knowledge as well as developing critical thinking. The edition includes 4004 questions related to the surgery of the thoracic, abdominal, and breast organs, transplants, vascular surgery, and nuclear medicine.

The author has worked extensively with the system of multiple-choice questions for many years, as it is applied in practice at both undergraduate level and in examinations for the surgical specialty at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
