In a concise yet comprehensive manner, the book focuses on the fundamental principles of Anesthesiology, incorporating the latest advancements in this specialty, and it is aimed at students as well as new physicians.

Knowledge and practices in Anesthesiology are presented, along with the clinical practice's current standards. At the beginning of each chapter, the main points are highlighted, while at the end, there are critical thinking and comprehension questions with reasoned answers. The content is structured into three thematic sections.

In the first section, the reader will find the basic elements of the physiology and anatomy of two systems, the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as aspects of applied neurophysiology, which are essential for understanding the effects of medications as well as the techniques used in Anesthesiology.

The second section presents the pharmacological characteristics, mechanism of action, and clinical effects of drugs (inhaled, intravenous, local anesthetics, neuromuscular junction blockers, analgesics, and cardiovascular drugs). The chapters of the first two sections aid in understanding the third and final part, which concerns the clinical application of anesthesia.

This part includes the monitoring devices for vital functions, as well as all interventions and techniques of modern Anesthesiology.
