Description

The stones and rocks are nothing but the archive that our planet maintains for its past, the diary it kept through the passage of geological time. It is a diary so extensive, with so many volumes, that it required the entire Earth's crust to house it.

Once someone learns to see the stones as texts, the entire Earth transforms into a planetary library. And the people who for two centuries have taken on the task of translating the texts of this library are the geologists.

The texts of our planetary library tell survival tales with happy endings, as well as gothic-themed stories of mass destruction. As we immerse ourselves in the vast expanses of geological time and Earth’s history, we feel enveloped by the presence of the past and realize that one day we too will become a small entry in the Earth's diary.

Let us therefore respect the delicate balances of the world around us, so that the future record regarding us does not resemble an ancient Greek tragedy.
