Erika:
They told me that everything we see in dreams is what the heart desires. But what happens if you only see nightmares? His name is Michael Christ. Do you remember in thriller movies when you cover your eyes so you won’t see, but you still try to peek a little? That’s how it is with Michael. He is handsome, strong, and utterly terrifying. And he definitely gives me as much attention as the sidewalk he walks on every day. But I observe him. I see him. I hear him. The things his gang has done for years… At some point, you stop tolerating it.

Michael:
Her name is Erika Fain. When we were in school, she was my brother’s girl and hung around our house. Whenever I entered the room, she looked down. I felt her fear whenever I approached her. I controlled her mind, and that was enough. Until I caught her alone in college. In my town. Vulnerable. Look at that… An incredible coincidence. Because three years ago, she sent three of my friends to prison, and they just got out. I waited patiently for this opportunity. And now all her nightmares will come true.

“Do you want to know why you’re here?” she asked me, her voice pinned to my ear. “You’re here because you’re like me, Rika. You’re here because we’re tired of being told what to do and kept in a box.” My lungs tightened, and I finally managed to take a breath. Michael wrapped his arm around my neck and tilted my head back. “I’m hungry, Rika,” he said, pressing his hard body against my back, his lips hovering above mine.

I love this book so much!
It is undoubtedly a dark romance.
I can't wait to continue with the rest of the books in the series.
    We love Penelope Douglas.

The opinions I read before buying it I can say were very flattering for the book as well as the small excerpt I read made me say "I will buy it", in the end I don't know if it was worth it or not. It is what I read from most dark romance novels without meaning that it is in the style of the fifty shades books but there are enough descriptive sex scenes. It is written in dual time, that is, the now and the years ago, alternating in the chapters, with the now making you think it lasts at most a week in total. The events in the now happen in such a short period. At first I said I want to get the second book too but now after the first I don't know if I still want to. It has quite a few mistakes in the editing of the text (in its translation I mean). I hope I helped.
