Description

The D-Link DGS-1005D switch connects servers and workstations via 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, using existing Cat. 5 copper cabling. It operates as an unmanaged Layer 2 switch for desktop placement and features plug-and-play installation. Each port automatically detects the connection speed and supports automatic MDI/MDIX negotiation, so a crossover cable is not required.

The device uses the store-and-forward method and supports IEEE 802.3x Flow Control. It connects to existing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet equipment, while the Gigabit ports operate in full duplex at transfer speeds of up to 2000 Mbps.

Stable, with use on PLC. Household office in which 2 computers + the PLC for the router are connected. It's worth the money, although the same job can be done with cheaper options.

Attention to those who want something more advanced: The switch automatically assigns IP through the DHCP of the router or any other network management device. There is no management interface, it is simply a plug and play solution to add more Ethernet ports.

I am considering getting a second one because the router only has 2 ports.
