Description

Description

Xiaomi Home Cinema projector Wanbo Mozart WB81 with Full HD resolution (1080p) and image diagonal ranging from 40 - 140". This size depends on the distance the projector is placed in relation to the projection surface. The throw ratio indicates the width of the image produced by the projector when placed at a specific distance from the screen. For example, a throw ratio of 1.3:1 means that the image will be 1 meter wide when the projector is placed 1.3 meters away from the screen. This particular model is a short throw projector as it has a Throw Ratio of 1:1, meaning it falls within the range of 0.40:1 to 1.10:1 that characterizes this category. Practically, this means you can place it at a distance of half a meter to one meter from the projection surface, essentially without any obstacles, making it useful in small spaces or for presentations.

Projection Technology

The projection technology is the way the projector's lamp light is converted into an image to be projected through the lens onto a surface. This particular one is LCD technology and its lamp is LED type, which has a longer lifespan but lower brightness than regular lamps, with good color performance.

This technology gets its name from the initials of the words Liquid Crystal Display. The image is created by a liquid crystal panel which produces combinations of the three primary colors: red, green, blue. This results in very good color performance even in black.

Contrast Ratio

Brightness and contrast, or otherwise the contrast ratio, are two very important features that are taken into account, in combination with the projection distance and the maximum diagonal you want to achieve, for the selection of a projector. This particular one has a brightness of 1000 Lumens and a contrast ratio of 3000:1.

Contrast indicates the difference between the darkest and the brightest part of an image and is an indicator of image quality. The image projected by a projector with a low contrast ratio appears faded and flat. On the contrary, with a high contrast ratio, it appears more realistic and with greater "depth".

Brightness indicates how much light the projector can deliver to a specific surface area. The general rule suggests that brighter projectors should be preferred in spaces with plenty of light or multiple light sources, while darker ones should be preferred in dark spaces.

Connections

It is equipped with Wi-Fi so you can connect wirelessly to your local network and watch an online program or download software updates. The Bluetooth wireless connection allows you to connect devices that have the same technology, such as your mobile phone.

Unfortunately, I have not been satisfied with the projector. I cannot display text files, such as pdfs. The Play Store does not give you the option to download an app for this. There is only one and it is paid. Also, I was looking for something to mount it but there is nothing, not even on Temu etc. Avoid it!!!

I’ve been using the Wanbo Mozart projector for about 1–2 years, and initially I was quite happy with it. The image quality, brightness, and overall performance were solid for the price, making it a great option for casual home viewing.

However, over time I started experiencing a major issue. The LED seems to have degraded or burned out, and now there’s a large blue mark visible on the image. It’s very noticeable and really affects the viewing experience.

It’s disappointing because the projector worked well at first, but this kind of durability issue after relatively normal use makes it hard to recommend long-term.
