I got them for walking, they are lightweight, leather, with a very good sole, perfect design. The size is correct, I wear 43 1/3 in adidas, Salomon, and the equivalent in merrell was 43.5 or 27.5cm. Follow merrell's size chart and you'll be fine. They are not tight, they fit like a sock and leave room for the toes. Perfect purchase.
