Alkanet (Alkanna tinctoria) is a plant endemic to the Mediterranean. Its flowers are distinguished by their unique blue-purple color, and the root for its deep red. From it, a natural dye is produced, widely used in cosmetics, as well as in wines, and even for dyeing wood, stone, etc.
