The Hoya Neutral Density Ndx400 filter is an ND filter for camera lenses that reduces light intensity by 9 stops, to less than 1/500 of its original level. It is used for photographing solar eclipses and extremely bright light sources, as well as for achieving very slow shutter speeds in daylight so that moving subjects are not captured.
