It is a plant that withstands high temperatures and drought and can generally be cultivated in almost all regions of Greece, even in our garden or on our balcony. It blooms at the beginning of summer, and its fruits are spherical with a brown color.

All parts of the plant are usable, but mainly its leaves and seeds in their dried form are used in cooking. However, the fresh one has a more intense aroma and better flavor.

It usually accompanies fish, but its exceptional aroma makes it easy to combine with many foods.
