The phrase "in a case" is misleading, it refers to the paper packaging. Other than that, it is a top-notch knife, very light with a very long blade, very sharp. Mainly for filleting fish. I do not recommend it for cutting vegetables, due to the flexibility of the blade; the No.12 is more suitable.

Description & Specifications

Opinel Effile No. 15 “Beech” 002561

The Opinel Effile No. 15 beech is a sleek and practical pocket knife, ideal for tasks such as filleting fish and cutting thin slices. Its narrow blade makes it an excellent choice for the kitchen and outdoor activities.

Opinel Effile Series

The Opinel Effile, formerly known as Slim Line, is the new name for this collection of pocket knives from Opinel. These knives come in various sizes and feature luxurious wooden handles. The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 and is designed to prevent the blade from closing when opened and to allow it to open when closed.

  • Blade made of Sandvik 12C27 steel with a hardness of 57 HRC.
  • Resistant to corrosion and maintains its sharp edge.

Beech Wood Opinel Effilé

The elegant beech wood handle offers a warm and natural feel. The slender handle has a wonderful feel in the hand, while prolonged exposure to sunlight may affect the color of the wood. It is recommended to store it away from sunlight.

Opinel Effile Maintenance

To keep your knife in excellent condition, apply a layer of oil periodically to prevent the wood from drying out and to maintain its color. Don't forget to oil the locking mechanism as well. The blade can be sharpened with sharpening stones.

  • Blade length: 15 cm
  • Closed length: 17.6 cm
  • Overall length: 32.5 cm
  • Weight: 60gr (±5gr)
