Mejerhold captures a new way of theatrical interpretation. With the consent of the authorities, he creates a workshop exclusively dedicated to the new method and organizes educational seminars.
Biometrics is a method of dramatic art that stands in contrast to realism. It was developed in the Soviet Union in the early 20th century by director Vsevolod Meyerhold, who incorporated elements from Commedia dell'Arte, Kabuki theater, and texts from director and actor Craig into his method.
The foundations of theatrical biometrics were first established in 1915 at Meyerhold's Theatre Workshop during the period he was creating in Petersburg. The initial studies for the realization of the new kinesiology of the human body were the result of studying the movement techniques used by Italian comedians of Commedia dell'Arte.
The new method of stage kinesiology emerged after studying and delving deeper into the basic movements of the human body, as well as the ability of a person –when in motion– to create a new mechanics, a new kinetic organization.
