  • On the positive side, you can hear the caller very loudly from the earpiece and the ringtone is relatively loud, which is essential for the elderly. On the negative side, in a short period of time, for some unexpected reason, the battery swelled so much that it pressed the buttons on the front, causing the screen cover to lift.

I bought it for elderly people and personally I was disappointed. The truth is that there aren't many options at this price. Instead of simple phones now being better, they're actually worse than the flip phones from 20 years ago.

I was going to buy this or the Powertech Sentry Dual II, but I didn't go for the Powertech mainly because of the short battery standby and some issues with swollen batteries I read about in reviews, but on the positive side, it had an external screen, large letters on the display, and a loud ringtone. If I had read a review like mine or had the chance to see the phones up close in a store, I wouldn't have bought the Energizer.

So, let's look at the Energizer.

In general, it's quite cheaply made but seems to withstand normal use. It takes two SIM cards, the large size (not the very small ones that all phones use now). It takes a memory card but it's not included. The phone has no buttons or keys on the outside, which is good so nothing gets pressed by accident. The menu is in Greek (it also has some other languages), it has a radio that works without needing to connect headphones, but I never figured out how to adjust the volume when the radio is playing. It charges with type C, and there's a charger and cable in the box. You can set it so that answering and ending a call happens by opening or closing the phone, but you can't see who's calling before you answer. Personally, I turned this feature off.
The only positives are the loud sound from the earpiece, the large buttons, the separate flashlight button, and the two buttons for quick dialing specific numbers that you set. Regarding the flashlight button, the phone has the flashlight button in the middle and not three quick dial buttons. In the photos outside the box, it shows both with and without a flashlight button. The model you'll buy has the flashlight button on the keypad. Also, the letters on the keys are only in English. The battery standby is about 6 days with minimal use, I didn't have time to test it much to know for sure, but I don't think it lasts 10+ days as the company claims.
On the negative side for me, I expected the screen to be bigger, the letters on the display are very small even for me, and there's no setting to change the size. The sounds and generally the ringtone are not loud and there are only 4 pre-installed tones, not even the classic ringtone. It does give you the option to add your own ringtone from the memory card, probably. The menu takes a lot of searching to find some things. For contacts, I couldn't find a way to choose whether to show only the SIM or only the phone memory contacts. It shows both. That's it, I hope I helped.

Update: After not even half a year of very light use, the battery swelled and is dead. I don't know if the warranty covers it. Stay away from this phone

At first, it looks beautiful, but like the others with a cover, it has a difficult menu for the elderly and very small letters on the screen! The battery indicator is so small that I can't even see it!
