Description

Kolink Observatory MX RGB Tempered Glass Black PGW-CH-KOL-113, colorful and functional!

Main features:

  • Built-in ventilation for natural airflow
  • Keeping components cool

Optimal Airflow

The Kolink Observatory MX series features two styles, each available in three color options. You can choose between the Glass or Mesh versions, and then select black, white, or black-and-white color. This is the Glass model. The front panel is made of Tempered Glass, with fine side ventilation using Mesh. To ensure that this case has ample airflow, the dedicated PSU cover is designed with Mesh lining.

Generous hardware support

Beyond its good appearance, the Kolink Observatory MX Glass offers incredible support for a variety of hardware. It can accommodate a Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, or ATX motherboard, with seven expansion slots for PCIe devices, and there is space for GPUs up to 330mm. The dedicated PSU cover can accommodate power supplies up to 180mm. There is also a storage drive cage with four slots. Two can accommodate either 2.5" SSDs or 3.5" hard drives, while the other two are for 2.5" only.

Airflow Forever

To keep your computer at optimal temperature, the Kolink Observatory MX Glass can support both air and water cooling. There are five pre-installed Kolink Umbra ARGB/PWM fans to enhance airflow. The front features two 140mm fans. On the top, there are two 120mm models, and the rear also has a 120mm fan. Alternatively, there is support for radiators and additional fans throughout the case. The front panel can accommodate up to two 140mm fans or a radiator with a length of 240mm, 280mm, or 360mm. For the rear panel, the 120mm fan mount can instead support a 120mm radiator. The top panel can only support the two 120mm fans, but there are also two 120mm brackets on the PSU cover to provide dedicated cooling for the second chamber. Finally, the Kolink Observatory MX Glass has space for a CPU Cooler up to 160mm in height.

Additional features

The Kolink Observatory MX Glass features a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, and an HD audio jack on the IO Panel. There is also a Restart button that can be used to control the fans. Alternatively, the fans can be connected via a 3-Pin 5V Header and controlled through the lead fan.

Very nice case, I chose it because a friend asked me to build him a powerful computer with a small case, it comes with 5 pre-installed 120mm ARGB fans.

Everything fit perfectly, easy installation, plenty of space,

    Sturdy case

    I highly recommend it!!!

    I combined it with

    M/b gigabyte b550
    Cpu Amd Ryzen 7 5700g
    Cooler Raijintek eleos rgb

    The good:

Relatively small footprint for a midi case
It has filters on the top and bottom vents.

Plenty of space for 4 2.5'' SSD/HDD and 2 for 3.5 HDD, and you can remove them easily.

It is quite sturdy for the price and size.

Comes with pre-installed ARGB fans that are already cable managed.

The panels are very easy to remove and install.

Airflow seems good, but I need to look into it more.

The PCIe covers are with screws and can be re-installed, unlike other cases in its price range.

All the fan rails take both 120'' and 140''.

    The bad:
On the right and front panel, there is mesh for about 10 cm, which helps with airflow but lets dust through easily.

Space for cable management is average, and the CPU cable doesn't pass if the motherboard is installed, and if the cable is passed, it will complicate the installation of the motherboard. Depending on the PSU, it will obstruct the back panel.

The pre-installed fans are noisy and are not PWM; they just connect directly to the PSU, which means the speed cannot be controlled and is always at 100%.

Overall, it is a good VFM case; personally, I would change the fans as soon as possible.
