The General Air Force Headquarters (ΓΕΑ) is based at Papagou Camp in the municipality of Filothei - Psychiko in the Attica region.

This phrase is attributed to Wing Commander (later Brigadier) Spyros Papaspyras, the Commander of the Recruitment Center at the Gaza Base, who, in the Daily Order of October 5, 1941, welcomed the personnel of the 335 Squadron, the first Greek fighter squadron in the Middle East, to Egypt.
