This review is about the cover: Soft

They have tried to translate everything when it is not necessary (and they have made quite a few mistakes). If you know English, it is better to read it in its original form or from another publishing house because the mistake they made does not allow you to find out who committed the crime.

This review is about the cover: Soft

Finally, I found books that are enjoyable to read and, of course, to my liking. As a big fan of the TV series with the same name, I decided to get the book as a trial, and in the end, I couldn't put it down.
Disgusted by the crudeness, arrogance, poor vocabulary, and confusing writing style that I encountered in many books I had tried to read, even by well-known, award-winning authors, I ended up here and I'm glad that the series has many books for me to read.
Lastly, something that I liked compared to an older book I had read is that in the first 2-3 pages, it has all the basic names of the story, so every time you wonder who this person is again, you can refer back to the beginning and understand.

It keeps you in suspense. I read it in half a day! Very descriptive but not at all boring! The ending is unexpected!

The refined style of Agatha Christie with the touches of humor and irony that we love so much has been translated very well by the translator. One of the best detective novels I have read, without violent scenes and gore, what we call a cozy mystery: people change clothes for dinner, travel with their service, and express themselves with "sir" and "madam". Of course, the intelligent, dandy, and not at all modest character of Poirot is at the center.

I gave it as a gift to my brother and ended up reading it myself. One of the author's most popular books. It keeps your interest until the very last moment. Simply wonderful!!

Description & Specifications

One of Agatha Christie's most popular works, read by millions of readers and adapted repeatedly for film and television, now in a collectible hardcover edition.

“The murderer is here, with us… He is on the train right now…”

Shortly after midnight, the famous Orient Express is halted by a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere. In the morning, millionaire Samuel Edward Ratchett is found stabbed in his bed. His cabin door is locked from the inside. His murderer is one of his fellow travelers…

Hercule Poirot, also trapped on the train, attempts to solve the mystery. Among the passengers are many people who had reasons to hate Ratchett. Who among them is the murderer? Is he planning to strike again?

A journey on the world's most luxurious train turns into a thrilling mystery.

Read an excerpt

The clock was approaching five, a winter morning in Syria. At the platform in Aleppo stood the train, which was described in a boastful manner by the railway conductors as the Bull's Express. It consisted of a dining and kitchen car, a sleeping car with bunks, and two simple passenger cars. Next to the step leading into the bunk car stood a young French lieutenant, in uniform and impressive, who was conversing with a short, thin man wrapped in a scarf, from whom nothing could be seen except the tip of a bright red nose and the two ends of a mustache curled upward. The cold was biting, and this duty of bidding farewell to a distinguished visitor was not enviable, but Lieutenant Dibosk performed his role flawlessly. Polite phrases flowed from his lips in well-phrased French. Not that he knew exactly what it was about. Various rumors circulated, of course, as is always the case in such situations. In recent days, the mood of the general—his own general—had shown a gradual deterioration.

And then this unknown Belgian appeared and, in fact, traveled from England, as had been heard. A week passed—a week of strange tension. Afterwards, some things happened. A high-ranking officer committed suicide, another resigned— the anxious faces suddenly lost their worry, some military protective measures were relaxed. And the general—Lieutenant Dibosk's general—suddenly looked ten years younger. Dibosk happened to overhear part of the conversation between his superior and the foreigner. "You saved us, mon cher," the general said emotionally, his enormous white mustache trembling as he spoke. "You saved the honor of the French army... and prevented terrible bloodshed! How can I thank you for accepting my request? You made such a journey..."
