Faced with the choice of marrying a strange spirit or becoming dinner, Aoi decides to create a third option for herself! Aoi Tsubaki inherited her grandfather's ability to see spirits - and his huge debt to them! Now she has been kidnapped and transported to Kakuriyo, the world of spirits, to pay off his bill. Her choices: to marry the owner of the inn that her grandfather destroyed or to be eaten by demons. But Aoi is not the type to let spirits push her around, and she is determined to repay her grandfather's debt on her own terms!

Aoi has a personal mission to find the yokai that kept her from starving when her mother abandoned her. However, all she has to rely on is the memory of a simple white-faced mask. She receives a significant clue when a well-fed customer with a similar mask tells her that it is a common souvenir from the southern countries.

But how can Aoi investigate further when the only human in Kakuriyo is sure to become a snack for the first spirit that passes by?
