Kanavos organic peppermint essential oil is obtained by distilling the leaves and flowers of Mentha piperita. It has a cool, refreshing, camphoraceous aroma, and its composition consists mainly of menthone, isomenthone, neomenthol, and menthol. It is used in aromatherapy, for inhalation, and for topical application when diluted in a carrier oil.
For inhalation, add 4–7 drops to a ceramic burner or 2 drops to a handkerchief. For topical application, dilute 30–40 drops in a carrier oil. For a foot bath, add 5 drops to a basin of water. It blends well with lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, tea tree, and bergamot. Store in a tightly sealed container, protected from light and away from heat sources.
