Kikuyu grass seed is intended for coastal saline soils where only one water source is available. This warm-season C4 grass spreads vigorously and has light green, moderately coarse foliage. It can be used in private and public spaces, sports fields, and roadside slopes.
It can be sown on its own or as part of a mixture with other cool-season species. Germination requires a minimum soil temperature of 18 °C, and the grass goes dormant at temperatures below 8–10 °C. It is tolerant of drought and salinity.
