Fiberglass frame

The frame made of fiberglass is a common choice for the construction of camping tents. It is a lightweight and durable material, made from fiberglass fibers that are usually coated with polyester to protect them from water and moisture.

Fiberglass is flexible, allowing the frame to be lightweight and bendable to support the tent fabric.

What does the feature Polyester 190T mean?

It is an indicator for comparing the durability of two fabrics made from the same material

T means Thread which is fiber, and the number reveals the sum of the vertical and horizontal fibers in a square inch of fabric (see photo). The larger the Thread, the denser the weave and the greater the durability of the fabric.

What does the waterproof rating on camping tents indicate?

The waterproofing of a tent indicates how much water the outer fabric can repel. It is measured in millimeters (mm) and refers to how many millimeters of vertical water column (and thus pressure) a square centimeter of fabric can withstand without being penetrated by water.

The higher the degree of waterproofing, the less breathable the fabric is, and thus the warmer the tent. Common waterproofing values range from 500mm to 10000mm. Theoretically, any fabric with waterproofing >1000mm is considered waterproof. For example, a summer tent may have waterproofing from 500 to 1500mm.

So, to be fair... For its price, it's worth it, yes! For people up to 1.70m to say that they will sleep comfortably, it's just right. The bottom part is made of a different material than the rest of the tent, which does not let moisture in and keeps a certain amount of water out. Of course, it's neither a winter type, nor waterproof in the sense that it can withstand a few millimeters of rain. Personally, I use it at incidents as a firefighter. Once it happened to rain at night and I threw a poncho over it, so I didn't notice anything. On the positive side, you could say that it doesn't have much weight and it's easy to set up. On the negative side, I would say that without a poncho at high altitudes or in places with low temperatures, condensation occurs and is visible inside. Also, in continuous light rain, the water will get inside. Before someone proceeds to buy, they should consider what use they want it for. Also, because many people get confused, it is not automatic. That's all.

It's alright for the money, but don't expect miracles. Also, I received my order in 5 days instead of the 1-3 days promised in the description.
