This book is aimed at educators and students interested in the topics of education and technology. It is the result of research that emerged from two lines of reasoning.
The first concerns the teaching and training of natural sciences in secondary education, particularly the formation of models that are central to scientific practices.
The second relates to educational software. Based on the idea that computers have allowed the construction of tools for model formation, using all kinds of representation systems (such as images, diagrams, graphical representations), whether static or dynamic, one wonders to what extent and in what way existing educational software has addressed the processes of model formation.
This led the author to study software intended for the teaching of physics, aimed at secondary education students, in relation to theories concerning model formation.
