The Cross Academy consists of two groups of students: Day and Night. At sunset, when the Day students return to their rooms, they cross paths with the Night students on the way to school. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the Guardians of the academy, protecting the Day from the dark secret of the Academy: the Night is full of vampires! Zero is suspected of the murder of Shizuka Hio, the pure-blooded vampire who killed his family. Enraged, the vampire council sends assassins to Cross Academy to execute him. Will the Night intervene, or will Kaname allow Zero to be condemned?
