-Fill the pot with cold water, making sure not to exceed the level of the safety valve.

-Place the conical filter into the water reservoir.

-Add ground coffee to the conical filter without pressing it down, and remove any coffee residues from the rim of the pot.

-Screw the top part of the espresso maker onto the water reservoir tightly, but without applying excessive pressure on the handle.

-Place the espresso maker on the heat source; if using gas, ensure the flame does not extend past the edges of the pot.

-When the top part of the espresso maker is filled with coffee, remove the espresso maker from the heat source.
