Description

The Fiio K11 is a portable headphone amplifier and DAC designed to enhance audio quality for headphones and other audio devices. It boosts audio performance, providing better output power and clearer sound.

Main Features:

  • High-Quality DAC: Includes a high-performance DAC that allows high-resolution audio playback.
  • Multiple Inputs: Options for USB, optical, and coaxial inputs, making it versatile for various setups.
  • Amplification: Designed to power a wide range of headphones, providing sufficient power for high-impedance headphones.
  • Portability: Compact design for easy transport, suitable for both home and portable use.
  • Build Quality: Durable construction, with a metal casing that adds durability.

Features

  • A variety of inputs and outputs
  • On the K11 are USB*, optical and coaxial inputs as well as 4.4mm, 6.35mm, RCA line, and coaxial outputs*. Having more inputs and outputs than other typical entry-level amps means the K11 is more than capable of meeting your needs of putting together a capable audio setup.
  • USB connection to phones for decoding does not consume the phone’s battery
  • *Coaxal input and output share the same physical connector, Coaxal output can only be used in USB mode• Large power output
  • Under a 32Ω load, the K11 is capable of pushing 1400mW under balance modes. This allows it to easily drive many HiFi earphones and headphones to fully unlock their potential.• 3 gain levels, 3 volume curves
  • The K11 has 3 separate gain levels, each gain level having its own volume curve. This allows the K11 to give you a better listening experience with various types of headphones, whether you are using sensitive earphones or harder-to-drive over-ear headphones.• Specially designed audio circuit and power supply
  • Within the K11’s slim build lies a specially designed audio circuit designed for great sound quality. This is backed by more than 16 low-noise LDOs for precise voltage stabilization and powered by an external 12V switching power supply. All of this leads to a purer and more robust supply of power, leading to stable high-quality audio and thus truly enjoyable music all of the time.
  •  Slim and stable. The slim aluminium alloy body allows you to easily place the K11 anywhere, making it easier to put the device in a way that compliments the rest of your desk. Thanks to the silicon anti-slip pad, the K11 rests stably and firmly on your table too.
  • Clear always-on display
  • A custom, high-contrast and durable VA display allows you to easily see the sampling rate, volume, gain, or output mode with just a glance.Adjustable RGB logo lightningThe FiiO logo is illuminated with RGB lightning, giving you a quick way to identify the sampling rate of the current audio being played back. Six LED strips work in conjunction with a carefully placed reflective film and parts of the body designed to reflect light to make the light show uniform and elegant.
  • One multifunction volume knob
  • In the K11’s minimalist design, the volume knob acts as a critical source of control. The K11’s multifunction volume knob is used to power the device on and off, for menu operation, for volume adjustment, and for functions. The knob is designed so that you can quickly execute various complex actions by simply pressing and turning the knob. You can also quickly switch between LO/PO modes by double-pressing the knob, making it easier for you to appropriately connect to different headphones or audio setups.
  • Driver-free mode for plug-and-play
  • The K11 used in USB DAC mode does not require a driver on Windows 10 and above systems, and can also be used with video game consoles such as the PS5 and the Switch. Simply plug and play for worry-free usage whether you are enjoying music or being immersed in games. Driver is available to install for support of higher sampling rates.

I am not an expert in DACs nor an audiophile-enthusiast, I just did a lot of research before finally getting this.
From what I learned during the time I was watching reviews and reading for my own use case:
It is entry level/budget in the world of DACs that can reach thousands of euros.
It has very good reviews from many people and is recommended for someone who is starting to get into DACs/wired headphones.
I wanted it for IEMs and for wired headphones (I am still reading about headphones and will probably pair it with Sennheiser HD 490 Pro or Hifiman Ananda Nanos for gaming). Most mainstream gaming DACs I don't like for many reasons but the main one is that I wanted it to color the sound as little as possible with any DSP/filter and to have balanced 4.4.
I was between this and the Fosi K7, I went with this for the price, the design, and mainly for the NOS filter which I wanted to try.
It is quite powerful and from what I read, it won't have trouble, especially if you switch it to high gain, driving even high-impedance headphones or planars, etc.
Between this and the same R2R, I wanted this one because they say the R2R adds a warmth that many seek for music especially with certain headphones, while the regular one is described as more Clinical – flat which I prefer for gaming. Just because I don't know enough nor have I heard the R2R, I don't want to mislead anyone, better to do your own research.
Build quality is very good but the black is a crazy fingerprint magnet, I would have preferred the silver but I couldn't find it.

This review is about a variation of the product

Very good Amp/Dac, it easily drives the DT 990 Pro 250ohm for anyone considering it. Super easy installation, you just connect the headphones to it and it to the computer. At 70% volume, it blows your eardrums, so it handles it comfortably and then some. The sound is unreal, we don't even discuss it, for the 150 euros it costs, it's VFM compared to others in its category at 200+ euros. Buy without hesitation

Excellent build quality. RCA output for amplifier. Toslink, Coaxial (Input and Output when using USB connection) and USB.
USB connection with PC tested on Linux (Kernel 6.8) without any issues whatsoever.
The headphone amplifier drives my HD650 (300ohm) headphones quite well.
