It originates from the Mediterranean region and has been used since ancient times in medicine and cooking. The name thyme comes from the Greek “θύμος” (spirit, mood), with references to its use by the Ancient Egyptians for mummification. Its therapeutic effects on the lungs and bronchi became known in the Middle Ages.

Properties:
