Swanson's MCT Pure is derived solely from coconut oil. Coconut oil contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), which effectively boost the body's energy levels.

The main MCTs found in coconut oil are:

• Lauric acid
• Caproic acid
• Caprylic acid

Lauric acid represents about half of the total MCT content. However, most of the benefits of coconut oil are attributed to its content of caproic and caprylic acids. Lauric acid acts more like a long-chain triglyceride that requires breakdown in the liver, and therefore is less suitable as a quick source of energy.
