Flexible Ethernet Networking
In addition to the traditional Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), and Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), the eKitEngine S220 series switches support the latest industry standard Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS). ERPS is defined in ITU-T G.8032. It provides millisecond-level protection switching based on traditional MAC Ethernet and bridging functions.

Cloud Management
The Huawei eKit application allows users to configure, monitor, and inspect switches in the cloud, reducing installation and O&M labor costs.

Differentiated Security Control
The eKitEngine S220 series switches support multiple security authentication methods, including MAC address authentication and 802.1X authentication. They dynamically provide user policies (VLAN, QoS, and ACL).
The switches support:

• Port-based 802.1X authentication
• MAC address authentication
• Multi-function authentication

The eKitEngine S220 series switches provide mechanisms for defending against DoS attacks and targeted user attacks. They can create and maintain binding entries that track DHCP and reject invalid packets.

Smart Upgrade
Based on the Huawei Online Upgrade Platform (HOUP), the eKitEngine S220 series switches support smart upgrades. The upgrade process is highly automated and supports one-click upgrades.
