Emblem of the Medical Corps
A staff with a snake winding around it and a helmet. The staff is a symbol of the physicians of antiquity, who traveled through cities offering their services to patients. The snake is the quintessential symbol of Asclepius, the God of health, and its use by the ancient Greeks signified that, just as snakes shedding their old skin always appear young, so too does the God of health preserve the youth of humans by healing their ailments. The helmet is an emblem of the Army and its depiction indicates that the emblem represents the Medical Corps of the Army.
LEXICON: TO THE PHYSICIAN HE WHO WISHES TO BE KIND (Having confidence in the physician's love for humanity).
