"Alone Against The Static" is a modern-day scenario designed for one player. Players will choose to take on the role of either Alex or Charlie and will shape their own path through the story—the player's choices will determine their fate!
Alex and Charlie believe that a secluded Saturday getaway in the Dakota Black Hills is just what they need to revitalize their marriage—but there are older and darker things than broken hearts in the forgotten corners of the world.
This is a solo adventure for Call of Cthulhu from the 1990s—no Keeper is required to play the game. Players have two characters available to play, each with their own unique traits, abilities, and influences on the story.
The new Log Sheet mechanism tracks the players' choices, the secrets they uncover, and the items they find, which will impact the plot. A brand new entity of the Cthulhu Mythos is described for use in full Call of Cthulhu games, making the book appealing to a wide audience of Cthulhu fans and Mythos enthusiasts.
Players only need a pencil, dice, and either a copy of the Call of Cthulhu Starter Set or the Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook to play.
Content Warning: "Alone Against The Static" explores themes of grief, isolation, relationships, and broken hearts. It is recommended for adult players.
