The Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with a constant aperture, image stabilization and autofocus. Three aspherical elements contribute to sharpness across the frame, while two UD elements reduce chromatic aberrations. Super Spectra coatings improve contrast and reduce flare and ghosting.
The four-stop image stabilization detects normal shooting and panning movements, selecting the appropriate stabilization mode. The ring-type ultrasonic motor provides fast, nearly silent autofocus, with manual adjustment available without switching out of AF mode. The 9-blade circular aperture creates smooth bokeh in out-of-focus areas.
The lens is resistant to dust and moisture. Fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements help prevent dust and water droplets from adhering, while the non-rotating front element makes it easier to use filters.
