  • This review is about a variation of the product

The main reason I give 5 stars is because, for me personally, it has exactly what I wanted. I spent months looking for a machine and was waiting "around the corner" for a price drop to grab it. The purchase was made 6 weeks ago at €299 from a purely Greek online store.

First main point: It does NOT have a milk frother, which means less stress about cleaning, servicing, and the like, as well as a smaller machine footprint on my counter. It’s really slim, and compared to others, it makes a difference.

Second main point: It has grind size settings (you need to change them while the grinder is running and gradually after several grinds for the changes to take effect).

Third main point: It has coffee strength options that relate to the grams, with a maximum of about 10g.

Fourth main point: It takes a water filter inside the water tank, which means the filtering happens on the spot and not during the water’s transfer from the pump to a hard-to-reach spot.

    ---------------------------------------------------

First nice to have: The extraction mechanism is height adjustable. Cups, glasses, and related utensils fit. Especially small cups don’t get splashed if you lower it.

Second nice to have: A button to automatically make a second coffee shot right after the first. You press coffee x2, press extraction, deal with ice, etc., if you want to make it freddo, and you’re ready in a few seconds.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    You can’t avoid:

    1. The grinder noise
    2. The search for grind, settings, etc.
    3. General cleaning

    ---------------------------------------------------
Yes, you will waste coffee, yes, you will do many tests, water definitely plays a role, so does the filter, you’ll need to try many combinations until you find what you like. For water tests, get a very cheap one until you measure the ml per setting.

The result after about two kilos of coffee, for me, is extraction at 60ml for a double coffee, medium strength, and the grind two steps from the finest. I drink it plain and I think that’s where I’m at. Medium strength is about 9 grams per shot.

That’s all from me. I hope you’ll be just as satisfied, because I see prices are rising geometrically and the payback will take longer.
