The Artpol drill bit with a cylindrical shank is designed for drilling metal. It has a diameter of 5 mm and an overall length of 245 mm. It is made from HSS 4241 high-speed steel, with a hardness of 62 HRc and a point angle of 118°. The right-hand spiral flute is Type N. The bit has a standard point without a split point and can be resharpened by hand.

The oxide coating reduces friction and improves drilling performance. It is suitable for alloy and carbon steels with a tensile strength of up to 900 N/mm², grey and malleable cast iron, sintered iron, non-ferrous metals and hardened plastics. Use of a coolant is recommended, such as drilling emulsion, lubricating and cooling oil, or ester oil.
