We are not the creators of the principles that govern us from the outside; … However, we can decide to what extent we will grant them authority within our psyche.

Becoming the creators of our own authority means having developed enough confidence to continue leaving our certainties behind. Where this will lead us is something we cannot imagine from where we are now. We must risk experiencing it.
