It is correctly mentioned in the review comments that it is very difficult to "unclip" it once it clicks into the closed or open position, but there is no issue with sliding. Obviously, it is adjusted so that it doesn't open accidentally inside your bag or under slight pressure, so I don't consider it a disadvantage because that's what I was looking for, you just struggle a bit until you unclip it...
    The color is more navy, not so much "violet" if I can say so, but in the sun it looks like the photo.
