Description

PowerFlex

Ideal for large cookware

The PowerFlex cooking zones are the ideal solution for any occasion. Individual cookware and even unusually large pans fit correctly for perfect results. Additionally, the PowerFlex technology offers significant time savings, as with the booster function, with an output of up to 7.3 kW, incredibly fast heating is achieved.

Con@ctivity

Smart control

With Con@ctivity, the hood knows exactly what to do. As soon as the cooktop is turned on or off, the hood reacts automatically. The extraction power adjusts automatically depending on what is happening on the cooktop, always creating a pleasant atmosphere. The devices communicate with each other via WiFi. Con@ctivity allows the integration of the hood and the cooktop into Miele@home.

Safety Features

For greater safety and protection

Maximum protection in every situation: the system lock provides reliable protection against accidental or unauthorized activation. If a cooking zone operates at the same level for an unusually long time or there is no cookware on the hob, it switches off automatically. The residual heat indicator has another useful function: it reminds you not to touch the cooking zones when they are still hot.

TwinBooster

Booster function for quick preheating

For particularly fast heating: with the TwinBooster function from Miele, the power of two cooking zones can be combined into a single cooking zone if needed. Alternatively, the induction power can be distributed independently for even more flexible cooking.

Easy Additional Features

Greater comfort

Greater cooking comfort: with the Stop & Go function, all cooking zones can be reduced to level 1 at the touch of a button, allowing the hob to be left unattended for a while. The keep warm function keeps the food at serving temperature. Additionally, by setting the timer function, the cooking zone automatically switches off once the time has elapsed, while with the Recall function, the settings are stored for 10 seconds.

Permanent Pot Detection

Place the pot and start cooking

All you need to do is activate the cooktop – if there is already a pot on the cooking zone, the corresponding control element will be activated automatically. Therefore, manual activation of the cooking zone is not required. The size of the pot is automatically recognized for particularly high energy efficiency.

Very beautiful device with good build quality. The cable included is a three-phase 5x1.5mm^2. For use with a single-phase supply, bridging plates are included, but a thicker cable may probably be needed. Your electrician who will install it will tell you if you are not sure.

It was installed in a 56x49 hole without any problem, as the diagram also describes. I mention this to avoid confusion, as the company states 56-60cm and 49-50 respectively because the visible part is larger than what actually goes into the recess and allows for considerable tolerance in its size.

As for operation, it is incredibly fast. Especially on Boosters 1 and 2, it seems unreal, especially for someone coming from a ceramic hob. The Boosters are of course for special cases and do not seem to be needed often. Besides, the large unified area at Booster 2 level requires 7300W of power, which in many homes will trip the breaker if you have the usual 25A single-phase supply.

Indicatively, the middle burner (front left) at maximum boils 1.5 liters of water in less than 2 minutes. After 1 minute it is already steaming and has bubbles at the bottom. The times obviously also depend on the cookware.

The scaling is 1-9 or 1-17 depending on the mode you choose (the maximum power does not change, it just makes the control more detailed, dividing the same power into more steps) + 2 Booster Modes. Personally, I have kept the default 1-9 mode.
Read the manual which explains everything.

Although the manual mentions minimum cookware diameters per area and the smallest area has a minimum diameter of 10cm, in practice it recognizes a briki with a bottom diameter of 9cm on all burners, even the large ones.
I have not yet received the grill pan that Miele gives as a gift for the 125th anniversary, but I have seen it up close and it is very high quality. I have yet to confirm this in practice.
It replaced a 25-year-old Miele ceramic hob that was still working satisfactorily. I hope it lasts just as long.
