This particular thermometer is obviously aimed at enthusiasts who always want to have control over their cooking, even on a spit, searing steak, or even inside a deep fryer. NO other thermometer does these things. There are other wireless ones for some of these tasks, but none that I have seen can withstand the temperatures this one can handle.

Also, when we buy a device, it's good to read the instructions. It has a small line on it up to which it should be inserted into the meat. If you go and insert it almost all the way in and the external sensor touches the cold meat, it won't give you an accurate reading. Clearly, it doesn't show the external temperature immediately, but it will after a few minutes. It's not an instant read thermometer that you put in and take out. You leave it inside the grill, oven, air fryer and forget about it.

As for the support, it was impeccable when I needed it. One of the temperature sensors had a large deviation from the others. I contacted them via chat, they asked me for some photos in ice water, and after they saw there was a problem, they sent me a new one without any hassle.

I rate it low because it keeps disconnecting from the base despite the fact that the distance from it to the thermometer is less than 1 meter (10 inches). Also, the ambient temperature is unnecessary; it would be better if they removed it as it is very low and rises very slowly and never reaches the actual ambient temp. They explain on their site that the black sensor, because it is very close to the meat, is affected by its temperature as well as any cold spots it finds in the area, making it particularly low compared to the actual ambient temp. So since it is so off, why include it? It doesn't help at all. They could have had some other component that could be placed in a specific spot to measure the ambient temp. In my opinion, it is not worth the money. Get a good probe thermometer for at most 30 euros and do the same job more reliably and without disconnection issues. Truly useless. Just a gimmick.

From the packaging alone, one can tell that this is a premium tool. Prefer this version, the Pro or Meater 2, it's the same, just the name changes. It connects directly to your phone via Bluetooth and has incredible accuracy, as you will see with the accompanying certificate. Made in Taiwan, and it shows in the quality. It withstands crazy temperatures, even when frying! When you get it, you will realize that it is worth every euro it asks for. No, it is by no means cheap, but it is an investment in the kitchen that will pay off with perfectly cooked meats.
