Hybrid optical fiber adapter for connecting single-mode or multimode transmission fibers with FC/UPC and ST/UPC connectors. Typically used in splitters, for connecting patch cords with pigtails fused to the optical fiber cable.

In single-mode fiber, the signal does not scatter: data flow is transmitted parallel to the axis and reaches the end of the fiber in a single way, without reflections. It is suitable for long-distance communications, as the signal can be transmitted without amplification up to 100 km.
